Losing You
I woke up that morning with
you lying in my sheets.
I was careful not to move.
I know you were dreaming
your plane would never leave.
You woke up asking,
“Will everything be ok?”
I stuttered with an answer,
didn’t know what to say.
How long before I can’t
see your face?
I’ll tell you one thing,
one thing that I’ve learned.
Love can come and go
receiving less then it deserves.
It’s all part of the game,
the same game that’s
driving me insane.
And I never felt so deep,
so deeply in love.
I can’t even speak
my eyes are welling up.
The thought of losing you
is killing me and I know
it’s killing you.
I woke up this morning with your
scent still all over me.
I was careful not to move,
It could’ve drifted away with a breeze.
I went to run my hand through your
hair, but you weren’t there .
My now empty heart
sunk down and screamed,
“this isn’t fair”.
Now I’m stuck here and
you’re stuck there.
I’ll tell you one thing,
one thing that I’ve learned,
love can come and go
receiving less then we deserves.
It’s all part of the game,
the same game that’s
driving me insane.
And I never felt so deep,
so deeply in love.
I can’t even speak my eyes
are welling up.
The thought of losing you
is killing me and I know
it’s killing you.
