Speak My Mind
|
My mind is cluttered, my mind is
loaded.
Gotta figure it all out before,
too much is noticed
Got too much to do in too little time.
Stressing sitting here with my pen
and my rhymes.
Maybe it’s just that I’m missing
my baby.
Maybe it’s every other person
calling me lazy.
Trying to rise on up,
my thoughts bring me down.
Living on memories
that keep me far from “the now”.
Standing up for myself when
I say I’m not crazy.
It’s the time that we’re in,
just isn’t my favorite.
Maybe it’s every other
person calling me lazy.
Maybe it’s just that I’m missing
my baby.
I’ll sing it high,
if that’s what you want me to do.
I sing low, I hope it doesn’t bother you.
If I speak my mind,
is that too much to handle?
I want to free inside,
before I explode like a roman candle.
Whether pockets are tight,
or pockets are loose.
Feelings cost more then both,
so choose.
Would you rather hear an artist that
speaks truth through his words?
Or one that sells out and
in a year is unheard?
All I’m trying to say is
I’m going to get there anyway.
Working hard non-stop
‘til I reach the top.
Because my life’s a destination,
no complex equation.
Got to break from this funk,
No more mental abrasions.
I got a mission, got to make a decision
Should I fly?
‘Cause the answer’s in the sky.
I’ll find that we are the reason why,
the reason why.
We must believe in ourselves to get by.
I’ll sing it high,
not because you want me to.
I sing low, I hope it bothers you.
I speak my mind,
is that too much to handle?
I want to free inside,
before I explode like a roman candle.
Speak my mind.
