New Cd!

Hello my people.

So I have some exciting news. Over the summer I decided to get together with my band, The Reason Why, in the studio to record some songs.  Not just anything, but a live in the studio session, with all acoustic instruments.  Travis and I played acoustic, Karlee on melodica, Jeff on djembe, and Brian on an old 60’s Gibson bass.
I wanted to give my fans something a little more special when it comes to our music.  So I got the idea to rerelease my latest album “Speak”, with four live acoustic tracks.  I am super stoked that we did it live.  You can really feel the passion and energy coming off of the tracks.  We were all locked in with each other, no discractions, no stress, just pure fun like how we always do it.  The tracks came out great and we are ready to release it to the world! A brand new song, “Madeline” is one of the four new songs. This new recreation of “Speak” will be available on Itunes, Spotify, Quincymumford.com, as well as many others by the end of the week, so keep checking!  You can get a free download of the new song, “Madeline” at QuincyMumford.com, in exchange for your email address! Pretty rad, right?  Don’t miss out, be the first to have it!
The band and I will be hitting the road quite a few times this fall, spreading the word of the new record.  Some bigger shows to look out for are listed below, definitely come party with The Reason Why!  For updates and pictures of us on the road, check out twitter.com/quincymumf.
Cheers!

Greetings from Sweden!

Hello my people, my friends, ‘The Reason Why’! Greetings from Sweden! Over the past few weeks I have been over seas in Sweden. I took the opportunity to see another part of the world. I have not traveled to far outside of the States, besides Canada for the occasional snowboard trip. I found myself in the middle of Scandinavia! Although I am still here for a few more days, I thought that I would share my trip with you thus far.

My flight landed right in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm. Holy shit, I was blown away! I was taken back by the beauty of the city. I did not get to enjoy it at first because jet lag was kicking my ass. So, I made my way to a friend’s house to crash for a few hours before hitting the city.

A few hours later, I walked around everywhere I could. I am not one to act like a tourist and sight see, so I made my own route and followed my own map. It was important for me to see the real culture behind the biggest Swedish city! By my surprise, I landed here during the Stockholm Culture Music Festival! This was pretty awesome for me and I was stoked to see some live music. Guess who was the first act? Martha Reeves & The Vandellas from the Motown era in America. I was not excepting that, and it was one hell of a show. I spent the next few days checking out more of the city and seeing more international bands every night. I was lucky enough to score a show myself! I played at KGB in Stockholm, a small pub/club. I received an awesome response from the people in the crowd. They really listened to every story and lyric I sang, and clapped loudly after every single song! This was a truly awesome experience!

The next two weeks I spent in a much smaller city, Kalmar. I was lucky enough to have a place to stay from a family that is very close to me. I really got to see Sweden’s culture now being in a much smaller city, and surrounding countryside. The landscape is beautiful here.

I was stoked and honored to be able to be interviewed on a huge local radio station. They took strong interest to my music after the beautiful and lovely Malin Bergstrom sent them my latest album. The interview went great and I was able to spread my music to more of the Swedish community. After the radio show, two newspapers from the city called to score an interview! This was incredible for me as an artist. These people are real music lovers! Since then, I have been kicking back and enjoying life here in Sweden. Soon I will be home and missing my loved ones here, but I will be returning soon for sure!

Before I go, I want to tell you guys about a BRAND NEW MUSIC VIDEO we just released! It is for my song ‘Sunshine’! Directed/Edited/Produced by my talented big brother, Kyle C Mumford. Check out the video below and some more of his other work at http://www.kylemumford.com/. Oh and did I mention that its all stop-motion and took 4 months to make?! Enjoy!!!

Much Love,
